Zincite is a zinc oxide crystal with a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 4.  The color is red to orange-yellow.  Natural Zincite occurs in combination with Calcite, Willemite and Franklinite, and is found at the Franklin and Sterling Hills mines in New Jersey. Calcite & Willemite will fluoresce vividly in ultraviolet light.
